Never eat anything you cannot identify with 100% certainty.

This is a guide, not a substitute for expert identification. Foraging guides - including this one - can contain errors. If you are not completely certain of an identification, do not eat it. Cross-check against at least two independent sources, and when in doubt, consult a local foraging expert or an experienced forager in person before eating anything wild.

Sutton Park is one of the largest urban parks in Britain at over 900 hectares, straddling Sutton Coldfield in north Birmingham. Designated a National Nature Reserve in 1997, it mixes heath, wetland, seven lakes and ancient woodland, though as a heavily used city park, foraging pressure is higher near main paths.

Soil: sandy heathland soils over glacial deposits, acidic

Dominant species: mixed ancient broadleaf woodland with birch and oak

Parking: Several pay car parks around the park perimeter
