Glasgow · Urban park · mixed woodland and grassland city park

Public park - Glasgow City Council
Never eat anything you cannot identify with 100% certainty.

This is a guide, not a substitute for expert identification. Foraging guides - including this one - can contain errors. If you are not completely certain of an identification, do not eat it. Cross-check against at least two independent sources, and when in doubt, consult a local foraging expert or an experienced forager in person before eating anything wild.

Pollok Country Park is Glasgow's largest park at 146 hectares, gifted to the city in 1966 and twice named Britain's/Europe's best park. Its ancient North Wood and White Cart Water riverside give reasonable cover, though as a major city park it sees heavy year-round footfall.

Soil: mixed clay loam parkland soils along White Cart Water

Dominant species: mixed broadleaf including ancient woodland at North Wood

Parking: Free car parks at Pollok House and other entrances
